The 'Grosser Gasthof' in Ballenstedt was built in the 18th century for the guests of the count and is part of the old castle grounds across from the historic theater. In 1996/97 the building was torn down and completely rebuilt. The 'Schlosshotel Grosser Gasthof Ballenstedt' still represents the architectural style of the Ballenstedter Baroque era.
