Sugar Beach Resort

Condominium resort next to 3-mile undeveloped beach

  • Situated on the blue Pacific at the northern boundary of South Maui's Sun Coast, this tranquil condominium resort provides guests with ready access to 3 miles of unspoiled beach protected by the adjacent Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refugee. Kihei Town, 3 miles south, offers extensive shopping and dining options.
  • Guest unit lanais (patios or balconies) afford sweeping views of the Pacific, and the West Maui Mountains to the north. Set up for casual, comfortable living, condominium units are air conditioned and include full kitchens, living/dining rooms, washer/dryers, and cable television with a VCR.
  • Two tennis courts, a putting green, and a barbecue area provide relaxing recreation, while a swimming pool, a big hot tub, a children's pool, a sundeck, and a sunning lawn set the scene for a true Hawaiian vacation.

Driving directions from Kahului Airport: Exit the airport on Keolani Pl. Stay in the middle lane and continue onto Dairy Rd/Hwy 380 heading south. Turn left onto Hwy 350/S Puunene Ave, which merges with Hwy 311/Mokulele Hwy. Continue into Kihei and turn right onto Hwy 31/Piilani Hwy, which becomes N Kihei Rd. Continue to the resort on the left.

Shuttles and taxis are also available; shuttles cost $16–25 for one to two people, and advance reservations are required. Taxi fare is typically $16–25 as well. All fees subject to change without notice.

Getting around: Most people use rental cars to get around on Maui, and they are available online. Taxis are another option, though the fare can add up quickly. They generally arrive within 15 minutes of being called, but advance reservations are a good idea for those who need to be somewhere at a particular time. Organized tours are another great way to explore some of the island's attractions, and the resort can assist with booking excursions.
